Instead of Christmas -this is maybe 15 years ago- nobody had any money in my family and we were like,‘let’s just get together and have a potluck and we’ll bring everyone together.’ And it was like, yeah, but ONLY MEAT! Only meat at the potluck! And then all these other rules evolved, like… anyone could come but they have to bring a dish made of meat. And you have to invite all your past relationships, right, so everyone you’ve ever been in a relationship with. It’s, like, a day of forgiveness. It’s like Yom Kippur… but with meat.“
