In a perfect world this would be just another ship and I wouldn’t disapprove of it in the slightest, but this is an inherently homophobic society. We have a long way to go until queer erasure stops being a problem. It would be great if it wasn’t, and I wish we lived in a society where combating homophobia didn’t trump creativity for the sake of it. Honestly, it’s sad that it has to. It’s sad that homophobia is so pervasive and that even something that seems harmless, should be harmless, like a little ship, can be a symptom of a much larger and more sinister problem but it is.

I really want to live to see a day when this isn’t problematic. The sooner, the better.
