UUUUGGGGHHHHH

This

I think I’m doing this right…

dammit England, stop making us look bad D:

*goes back in time and convinces my mom to raise me in England*

this really makes me angry. My gf cries herself to sleep sometimes because college is too fucking expensive here in the states.

I’m 27 and I really want to go back to school and I can’t. It’s just too expensive for me to afford with the job I have. Here in the states, they don’t want you to succeed if you are poor. It’s easier to kick someone when they are down. I swear to God, I hate it here.

Bolding part of the above because it’s just oh so fucking true.

Should have been English

Between my bachelors and masters degree debt, I could buy an island. A. Mother. Fucking. Island.

Shoulda bought the island

Dammit why did we revolt against England

government pays for it….then makes you pay it back, cause its a loan when I graduate I’ll be in a hideous amount of debt (and finalcial aid? yeah good luck – I’d qualify for free tuition in the US on my parents income, and recieve no income based grants at all in the uk). And that’s all assuming you’ve managed to finance yourself through two years of alevels first during which you get no help at all (i know several people who ended up in the if I’m on jobseekers I can afford to live but if i go do alevels I stop recieving jobseekers and also can’t get a job so can’t afford to live situation)

that’s also not what ucas points are for in the slightest, some (not most, none of the russel group unis and a fair few other don’t) universities accept ucas points for the entry requirement. You can transfer to another uni and then start your degree over, then they might look at your ucas points (or more likely your alevel grades, or IB, etc). transfering mid degree isn’t really a thing? there’s not a system for it as far as I know, I think you’d have to compare all the modules you’d done so far against the ones they do at the uni you want to move to and have the cooperation of both universities to do it. (the credits I earn at my uni don’t allow me to go enter third year at a different uni, its entirely an internal system)

haha…parking, I realise this might not be universal but the rule at my uni is you have to live 15 miles away to apply to buy a (hideously expensive) parking permit.

eh…just maybe set the bar a bit higher than the english system? its also aweful. There are countries where all these things are true (like the government actually pays for your tutition etc) but england isn’t one of them
