there is a fundamental difference between providing humanizing details about perpetrators of awful deeds in order to prevent them from hiding behind the abstractions of statistics and academic passivity, and humanizing them as a mode of absolving them or redirecting attention from the harm they’ve caused.

not at all =) there’ll be three of us crammed into the bed, but iirc you and josie and rory have already set a precedent on that front.
haha yes, we managed just fine so it is possible xD
That sounds like a plan then 🙂
MCM saturday: musketeers & vikings
aka Adventures in Spirit Gum
first day at the con for me this time round, so ridiculously lovely to see all these ridiculous nerds again ❤ saturday featured impressive devotion to makeup, the most ridiculously swooshy cloak, fantastic hats, and some interesting crossovers. the musketeers group was so much fun and needs reprising asap, and it was awesome to meet other musketeers cosplayers (whose urls i sadly don’t have!) and to be in the presence of mel’s awe-inspiring lagertha… then back to the boat-el (hotel… on a boat) for overcomplicated takeout and cuddle piles as ever
i met and ran into and reuinited with too many babes to tag, but pictured here are at-heart-a-gentleman, fearlessstateofmind, ciasty, preparedforthateventuality, and cakewithwings
bonus: how rad is this outfit though:
i am a lil bit speechless
one day you will have a pauldron of your very own young aprentice xD
just a vague progress update to touch base and prove that i’m actually doing something~
current work on Aramis’ arquebus and pistol for fearlessstateofmind
i’ve barely started really, and they don’t particularly look like guns yet… but they’re cut, planed, mainly dremelled and kinda sanded at least
ah wow! these look great
things are coming together 🙂

For the lovely anon who asked for it: here is my attempt at analyzing the costume and fighting styles of the three musketeers, and how it informs each character. Thanks for giving me the excuse to ramble at length about these three.
