What’s wrong with the term “genderbend”?
the term “genderbend” implies that a character’s gender changes when their sex changes. it’s dehumanising and enforces the cissexist notion of genitals = gender = presenting/passing gender. there is absolutely nothing wrong with having headcanons of different genders. it’s wrong when the headcanons (and consequently fanart) of the characters always have their genitals = gender = presenting/passing gender as this continues to erase trans, nonbinary and intersex folk. please read this post as well.
