1. One of your best cosplay memories?

I’m going to have to go with meeting all the les amis de mcm lot – particularly that first meet, it was a magical time, although there are plenty of people who come along later than that. Although the recent ‘actors take photos of our costumes’ moment also gets a mention here

4. Stupidest thing you’ve done for cosplay?

so this is a bit of a toss up, potentially its climbing up the side of wollaton hall wearing stuff not particularly practical to do that in – it could also be nearly falling into the thames while handcuffing myself to something. but its probably all the times i’ve gone ‘sure okay i’ll do that’ to group cosplay ideas xD It could potentially be deciding to make a cloak because if that doesn’t kill me one of the others might

7. Who is that cosplayer who inspired you to push yourself out of your comfort zone?

probably jemmalep most of all

8. What are some of the most memorable comments you’ve received on your cosplays?

kate, you once speculated I might be a shapeshifter. every single ‘no; or lhow dare you’ tag on those photos we did of combeferre dieing on the barricade

15. Best bystander experience?

Probably the surprisingly chill reaction we got in belgium while walking round covered in blood, not in cosplay but about props i was carrying wrapped up ‘what you go in there? a gun?’ ‘um…well…’ or getting into a lift at a hotel ever with one person in it who has no idea what a convention is (I really think cons at hotels should gently wanr othr guests about the event happening when they book rooms)

16. Best photoshoot?

The enjolras and combefere one me and mel did with jemma at her relitives place. The one we all did recently at wollaton park was also great.

20. Name a cosplay cheat.

my single most lazy cosplay purchase (though i’ve used they in every day life) is clip on bottons for braces cause now i dont have to sew them into every pair of trousers – i make a surprising amount of costumes involing braces including for fandoms where if their costuming was historically accurate braces wouldn’t be a thing. my only other real cheat is doing architecture and…er…liberating? materials from workshop, studio or skips.
