Les Mis cosplayers at MCM Expo (London)?

esca-maccunoval:

Hey there people, I’m planning on going to London Comic Con next month (eek next month) and cosplaying Les Mis. Anyone else doing the same? If so, hit me up please so I can rest assured I won’t be alone, and also because wouldn’t it be great if we all met up and took brilliant photos of our brilliant selves?

for the first convention in quite a while I’m not cosplaying les mis at expo 😦 (okay I’m kind fo cheating cause I’m doing a discworld cosplay from night’s watch but still)

however I do know lots of les mis cosplayers, so who’s doing les mis at expo out of you lot?

because i have just been reminded of it! When the bbc musketeers series comes out people should cosplay that with me…yes good.

three musketeers is one of my favourite books ever so…

incidently does anyone know if its still coming out early next year (as its got peter capaldi in it mainly, so may have changed)?

con round up

Back from mcm expo now, been at uni today so the post is a little late (studio all day tomorrow too…I need more sleep)

this is just me rambling at length so

arrived quite late friday but still in time to get our wristbands so we didn’t have to queue saturday morning which was good, even after we’d spent awhile running round kingx/stpan underground station looking for each other. Didn’t go in to the show that day but went then to check into the hotel, they upgraded us cause mel said we’d come further than we had (accents are awesome) so next time we’re going to say we’re on our honeymoon or somthing. The staff at the hotel were really nice and helpful all weekend, must be an interesting but very hectic weekend for them? Then back out to meet up with jemma and eddie and do some modern les mis photos and then food at their hotel and early night.

Saturday was Grantaire cosplay day and after battling with the wind up the road (may have acctually been worse sunday but felt like that flag was going to take off sometimes) went into the hall today, was probably better than in may but it was way to busy on the saturday to acctually see stuff to buy and very warm, particualrly for Mel in her enjolras get up. Also corridors seem to have got narrower. Got briefly acosted by some pirates while finding a drink then saw everyone a bit later at the les mis meet, great to see old friends and meet all the new people/semi-new people who I’d met on tumblr but not in person yet (lots of people! more than may which I thought was wierd given its longer since the film? but still great so yeah) I still need to go through the masterpost lists and follow people I just haven’t found the time yet – I’m not ignoring you I promise. We have a couple of photosets from this day but we’ll probably try and get more of this one in the future I think.

Sunday was enjolras and combeferre day, we thought we might not be as recognisable in this one but we still got stopped quite a bit (about the same possibly, acctually?) the massive flag probably helped – and having our bahorel with us for a while walking round on that day. Sort of crashed the nightvale meet to to see all the people we know doing that, and see all the amazing cosplays there. Jemma took some lovely photos in the late afternoon but then had to leave and say goodbye and go get the train (horrible journey back thanks to the stupid weather)

Miss expo and people already, we must do something together soon

spaceparked replied to your post “*passes funeral procession on the way to a con to be enjolras for the…”

whiCH CON?!

me and danni are at alcon this weekend 🙂 its in leicester so only about half an hour from me by train.

We were trying to get a deadman wonderland cosplay together acctually but I didn’t really have time being in cardiff with my grandpa and stuff (no sewing machine basically) so we fell back on les mis as we both have costumes from it obviously (abeit in the slightly odd combination of enjolras and eponine but still…just been going around saying ‘I don’t know who this is’ and ‘she was the first to die on our lonely barricade’ and stuff it sort of works)

which was kind of good because its not everyday you get to watch a funeral procession pass by while in enjolras cosplay.

have you got any future con plans appart from expo btw? (this ones 16+ and I know some others are, but you must be aproaching that?)

Come here and let me love you. -drags off- I will give you a shirt. I will give you all the things.

good cause I legitimately have no clue where mine is

now bling it up with a fancy wrist watch because enjolras means business and is always on fucking time YEAH

who are we kidding Enjolras would be one of those people who diliberately sets their watch five minutes fast to ensure they are never late.

(that is one Fine red blazer though…)

haha thank you 🙂

Victorian Tailoring

Sharing for all the great les mis cosplayers I now know from expo: Andrew at Victorian Tailoring is currently making an 1830s outfit (Including drop front trousers at some point which my dash exploded with yesterday – so I may tag eddie in this but I don’t know if that’ll be weird). He’s done shirt and underwear so far.

He does great photos of details and process (and does walkthroughs sometimes). Some of the other victorian era stuff on there is relivent also, and he’s done some regency stuff (also with fall fronted trousers acctually).
