Tag: it makes no sense

I’m not so much mad at the Smaug motion capture, just really confused. It’s just so unnecessary. If it was for a more human looking type creature, yeah it’s understandable, but bumperstump cabbagepatch is just the voice to a non-human looking creature so it makes no damn sense.

They put so much money and time and effort into this damn mocap and it’s so unnecessary. Smaug is a dragon and as such has ZERO similarities in anatomy to a human. None. I really wonder if the animators looked at the mocap and just went “wtf are we supposed to do with this”

And the funniest and most irritating thing is the filmmakers are bragging about it and showing behind the scenes clips as if it’s this genius idea when really no it’s a really stupid idea.
