The approach to free speech and freedom of expression that results in the greatest amount of speech from the greatest amount of people and diversity of sources does actually require some work beyond ‘everyone say whatever you want whenever you want and no one object ever’
Having rules and standards like ‘try not to be a bigot’ and ‘maybe don’t threaten people’ aren’t restricting free speech they are protecting it.
It doesn’t work to approach it as an individualised concept of why you personally can and cannot say/do
