late night blogging is dangerous but…watching musketeers over the past few weeks, and also rewatching ripper street to show it to my sister and being shown the hour in return has thrown into sharp relief for me how utterly delusioned I am with the writing on other shows when shown what the bbc series can do with competent writers at the helm.
In addition to just being better written, all of these shows are period dramas where minority characters and social issues are treated better by the narrative than certain other shows set in the modern day…
