I think one of the reasons I don’t ship popular ships like everyone else is because I’m aromantic. Like most popular ships (like stony or stucky etc.) have that friendship foundation. Like they are really close and are best friends and they trust each other and people see that as a means to romance, which can happen yes.
And I have nothing against these popular ships, but as an aromantic who understands the deep passion and love you can have for someone and understands that it doesn’t have to be romantic in any way, I find it annoying when every little action they do for each other is boiled down to “OMG THEY MUST BE IM LOVE, THEY MUST BE HAVING SEX, THEY MUST BE DOING ROMANTIC THINGS~~~!!!!” And I often feel like I’m the only one going, no that’s not how it is, that particular action doesn’t have to mean that, you can love someone and have it not be romantic at all.
