Ooh so there’s a line about this (it’s something about the gunslinger and the countess putting asside there differences for this fight?) That was at least recorded but not used – there’s a bunch of extra junkenstein narration if you haven’t heard it? (I can’t find the thing on my phone I can do it later from laptop if you are interested?)

I’d love to see it! I don’t usually play Junkenstein because it’s just so long, and I get impatient with it, and the wikis don’t have all the lines for it.

It does seem strange to me that there’s dialogue between the Countess and the Gunslinger because they’re in different Junkenstein parties? Soldier/Alchemist/Archer/Gunslinger vs. Viking/Countess/Monk/Swordsman

I found the stuff!

ah, so if you haven’t played it the new mode from last year endless you have the choice of eight characters (the four original and the four new ones) so you can indeed have McCree and Widow on the same team.

The line I was thinking of is actually a narration line from Reinhardt that’s “Long had the gunslinger pursued the countess but their battle would wait for another day” (you can hear it here at around 16:30ish – part 1 of that video is here also, I think its just ‘here are the new voiceline files in this patch’ mostly junkenstein stuff and a few other random things)

The rest of those videos are also quite fun for that reason but it’s like an hour long total, the conversation bits are out of order (cause they are mostly in chunks of one person’s lines – most if not all of them are actually in the game though) and a good chunk of it is eight different characters going ‘the tires on the left’ and such. So a lot of its fairly mundane. But other highlights include Jesse asking if “y’all ever tried smiling?” (which I think I may have heard play in game); The other two interesting widow related lines are “the countess had slain the witch as she had sworn many years before” and “the alchemist had no love for the countess but tonight they had common cause”; Poking fun at high noon (”the gunslinger knew that ‘the time’ was coming”); Reinhardt seems to have lines for basically all the abilities which I’ve never heard in game (I assume the action moves to fast to actually use them) most are fairly straight forward description but the sleepdart one is followed by “…but her ally quickly woke it” which is such a playing Ana mood; anything where Rein goes “if only they had a shield”; similarly “if only the alchemist had a valent knight to boost”; The witch offering the adventurers stuff (offers to McCree to fix his arm, Hanzo to bring back his brother, I think); A line about Hanzo realising who the swordsman is; at least two references to a ‘darker power’ than the witch which might proove to be important idk? etc

Ah, I’ve seen a lot of these lines actually! Just for some reason, a lot of lists leave out the Rein narration. I feel like I’ve heard the lines about the Witch offering the adventurers something played in-game (she tells Hanzo his brother is alive, because he thinks he’s dead but he’s not. She cannot undo what never happened sort of thing.)

I do sort of wonder how many of these are actually in-game, because to me, they don’t properly count unless you can actually trigger them in-game.

But, anyway, it’s nice to hear that I’ve landed on it properly.

Have to listen out for what triggers this time round – I find this mode so hard to actually hear lines in though tbh, there’s a lot going on and quite a lot of other noise. I think I’ve heard some and not others (I’m like 90% I’ve heard at least the smiling line and Rein going “The adventurers lamented their lack of a shield” for example – but its been a while) also probably played less of endless for the stuff specific for that.

but yeah the Countess-Gunslinger connection is definitely something someone at blizz also at least thought of enough to record a voiceline and have in the comic? so interesting if nothing else!

presequel is a little better since it gives you two woc characters to play as (assuming you have all the dlc, if not it’s just one) plus one as the main antagonist…but of course nisha ends up with jack doing horrible things and eventually being killed by you in bl2, and zarpedon gets shot in the head by a “bored” jack as she’s pretty much desperately telling him that he can’t go into the vault or bad things will happen

Yeah and that is good – and definitely promising for the future of the series in a way? At least one would think so.

The presence of non-white people in borderlands is…reasonable I suppose for a piece of media (though I am certainly not going to complain if it gets better). How they are treated by the narrative sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. Is I think mostly what I mean?

I’ve made a Facebook group for the LFCC BBC Musketeers meetup! It’s pretty much going to happen on the Saturday, as that’s when Tom, Luke and Maimie are all going, but a time isn’t set yet, and neither is a specific place at Olympia! I was thinking maybe outside, so if people don’t have tickets but would still want to come, then they could??? ALTHOUGH HEAT AND LEATHER PERHAPS ISN’T WISE.

Feel free to suggest ideas (and also photoshoot ideas)!

Everyone welcome, cosplayer and non-cosplayer alike! 😀

responding on here because i dont do facebook, but i shall come along and I shall also bring camera (and lens etc).

(I believe some of our lot have already responded over there though, there are quite a few of our group and most of us are there I think?)

I know your time is a random guess but may I suggest not doing it in the middle of the day other timings permitted it’ll make getting decent photos harder.

# yeah thinking not the leather coat for this one…just shirtsleeves?# its still pretty warm…#(and lets be real aramis in a state of undress is not exactly out of character) #(fun story i told mel that and got the response of ‘i read shirtless first’ #so future plans: costumes from his very first scene and standing in a river #which would to be fair be cooler)

I was just saying today if this weather keeps up I’ll do the river version because dang it’s warm

Or whip yourself up a fake lightweight melon or whatever thing it is and do this version

Standing in a river will probably be pretty welcome on the day! (Though maybe not the Thames…) Will probably have to find other methods to cool down though

I look forward to seeing your melon version if I’m around in october, that’s a really good idea 🙂

Don’t suppose it’s getting any cooler in the UK is it? I’m currently visiting family in Spain and hoping it’ll acclimatise me to the large greenhouse that is London Olympia… I don’t think it’s working very well

(Sorry I tried to reply to this earlier and the mobile application decided it didn’t want to do that)

yeah crit means i will have been up roughly 72 hours. better than nothing yes, if people were around and someone could put me up I could maybe try get down saturday evening then go home sunday evening (or monday morning) so i dont have to do all the travel from nottingham all in one day

That sounds like a good plan. I’m sure tons of people in the group will be staying in hotels and/or near the Expo, and I sincerely doubt that anyone would turn you away if you asked. It beats spending god knows how long on a train

I will see nearer the time then I think. its four hours round trip so in one days thats a bit much it’d be good to spread it out a bit

fearlessstateofmind:

its a really hard thing to balance, its very annoying…I think you’re hair looks good shorter as well though. But also yeah cosplays, particularly those involving having a hair line, are much easier with your own hair so thats a factor. (eh, for will’s his hair is short…

Haha yeah you have a point there. Sometimes cosplay planning helps me make a decision though. Think I should be fine for will though yeah.

Hannibal with dreadlocks would be great though xD its hard to find a style that works at the odd in between though.

I know the feeling, just have loads of wigs so you can pick whatever you like on any given day it’d be great…if wigs weren’t such a pain in the are anyway

on facebook we were discussing the next meet, it was looking like either the 12th or the 19th of april if that works for everybody… we also thought that would work if we could get matinee tickets for the show, but idk if there’ll be any available

we should definitely keep an eye on what’s on at the prince charles and also at cinemas in general (and also see if people are up for the labyrinth ball because that sounds amazing)

and ahh as for cosplay, canon-era was so much fun i really want to put a decent one together! and i srsly need to work on my modern!courf because right now i only really have the punk version

i’m guessing those are the weeks schools are off? the 12th works quite well for me as its my first weekend of holidays so i could basically travel via london to my parents that day or something. not that i’m doing anything on the 19th particularly – easter weekend may be a little difficult for travel though (mel is less likely to be in the country – though my holiday dates are a little wierd this year so that may not make a difference)

I just had a quick look on the website theres a block of 12 tickets on the 12th (mix of £25 and £37 ones) but slightly more close together the next week – on the left of the upper circle as you look at the plan. think we’d need to book pretty soon though – it’d be good if we can pull it off

the laberinth ball was i think a bit soon for me to afford to travel down to london again, but it does look really cool.

you should, would you do montparnasse for a more put together one or someone else? modern au can be tricky too right? to make it unmistakably the character and such i mean

i think so, yeah. i’ll make a post on the facebook group to see how many people can do the 12th, it would be better for me too as i think i’m getting home from holiday late on the 18th… and oh yeah, i hadn’t really registered about easter weekend, that’s a point.

we’d need to book asap, so i’ll see if i can get an idea of numbers by today or tomorrow then we can maybe see about group booking discounts

i don’t know if i could make it yet and also there’s a question of putting outfits together, but there’s still a possibility that danni and i might go and i know jules and mel were vaguely interested though they haven’t seen the movie, so maybe it’s worth keeping an eye out in case there’s one in a couple of months (i know i can’t make the one in april, sigh)

montparnasse is fun and the coat’s a good starting point to have, so i might give it a shot again, but i’d quite like to do courfeyrac as well, or even bahorel… and I know! my modern courf relies on my personality because srsly it’s hard to define the outfit… like, bowtie??? hipster??? waistcoat??? slogan tshirt???

the train i need to get is cheaper on the 12th if that’s any idication for easter mark up? (only by about £4 but still)

that sounds like a plan, the website seems to indicate you need 10+ for a group discount, which we might make if the date’s convinient then we get best available seats for £39.50 which might work out more expensive but maybe better seats? it also says “We are happy to reserve the tickets without charge while you sort out the details with the rest of your party” which could be useful

oh that’s a good point, it might be an event they’d put on again in the future, that’d be good. and how have they not seen labyrinth!

As I have recently discovered courfeyrac has a rather nice waistcoat so that’s definitly a consideration – though then you also have bahorel scarlet one to consider. it’s hard to choose though, i still want to do fueilly at some point. haha yes, my mondern enjolras is basically personality+wear a lot of red
