yes, that really wasn’t worth it.
dismissing that something is important in my culture because it doesn’t go with your previous argument of ‘it’s only significant in this one’ is clearly a-okay.
and pointing out you had overlooked something is the same as saying cultural apropriation is okay. I suppose it does prove the idea is more universal/world wide than you were presenting which I’m guessing is what you had a problem with.
