saw that post about classical music not being boring cause canons and its not strictly classical music but I’ve got a good orchestra story about odd things being used as instruments
I was in the county youth orchesra when I was younger and we met every two weeks for a full day at the weekend we had this saga over the first three rehearsals after we’d started playing a lord of the rings arrangment
rehearsal one: the score asks for a brake drum…we’re not sure what that is
rehearsal two: we’ve found out…it means a brake drum as in from a car
rehersal three: we’ve mounted a break drum on a metal pole here’s a hammer to hit it with go nuts
