the british government is literally throwing young people in this country under the bus wrt financial security and job aspirations and housing etc and so far has succeeding in totally ignoring any protest they make by demonising “students” at every opportunity (lazy, wasteful, selfish, vandals, etc etc) but they’re in for an incredibly sore wake-up call when they’ve got our entire generation and those close above us moving up into the “adult world” as they think of it bc these “young people” are going to have absolutely no desire to play by the rules that have been strangling them for so long and it sounds ridiculous to say “revolution is coming” and i don’t think it will be anything really drastic but there is an ENORMOUS disconnect between generations right now and there is no way that is not going to boil over in some way soon

i hope to any higher power that it’s brutal and ruthless on our part because honestly i don’t think they have any idea just how much our generation bitterly despises the one above us for how much they’ve screwed us over and kicked us in the teeth and then told us we’re lazy and entitled and ignored us. i want them to feel the full effect of the millennials’ rage

the truly vicious part of me just wants to burn the despair and anger and bitterness into them that they raised us on so they can understand how it feels to be brought up into a world where they’re constantly told how fucked up everything is and how badly it’s all going and how hopeless everything is and yet be repeatedly beaten down rather than given hope and it’s like you’re surprised we’re self-obsessed and party and drink etc etc too much? it’s like jesus christ we’ve barely got futures anyway we might as well ride the highs when they come we have to escape the nightmare world you’ve created for us to inherit somehow

the only thing that gives me strength to still get angry about it all is the fact that they shit all over us so continuously but one day we’re going to rule the fucking world and we can’t possibly do it worse than them (and i don’t believe we will – we are better connected than any generation that has ever gone before us and we’ve seen the depths we can sink to i can’t believe we’re not going to claw our way back out because we are going to have to fix this mess so our children aren’t raised on an ideology of hopelessness the way we were)

To add to the above: My school year were the first year to get the higher university fees, (which is one of the first of the acts that do this by our current government) I was 16 at the last general election.

The people who they are currently screwing over could not vote for them.

We (a lot of us) can in the next.
