Modern!AU Headcanon: Combeferre tends to use his left hand, wrist and arm for notes.  Sometimes he is just too absorbed in his books to find the time to get a piece of paper (and if he finds one, he forgets to take it with him later). So his skin is usually ink stained, be it with medical terms that have come up during his studies and that he is still trying to remember, pages he intends to revisit, meeting he plans to attend or simply things on his to do list.

(Courfeyrac enjoys adding rather inappropriate comments between the notes or simply drawing penises on him, but sometimes Jehan writes him a few verses of his own and it always makes Ferre smile when he finds them at the end of the day.)
